Most clients are one of three types: (1) a PE or corp dev team evaluating an AI acquisition and needing technical and strategic diligence; (2) a mid-market company’s Chief Strategy Officer or CTO who needs to build a board-ready AI position; (3) an operator who has an AI initiative approved but needs a credible execution partner who has actually built these systems before. Industries: healthcare, fintech, enterprise SaaS, infrastructure.
Three things. First, no model risk: I don’t have a vendor relationship with any AI platform, cloud provider, or tooling company — advice is fully independent. Second, I’ve actually built and deployed the systems I’m recommending: six production tools, live. Third, you work directly with me — not an analyst two levels down who gets handed the brief after the partner meeting. The senior person does the work.
Typically 5–7 business days from first call to kick-off. The diagnostic call takes 30 minutes. A scoped proposal arrives within 48 hours. We agree on scope, sign, and start within a week. For time-sensitive situations — board meeting in three weeks, LOI deadline, urgent competitive move — I can compress that timeline.
For project work: no minimum beyond a defined scope that’s worth both parties’ time. For fractional advisory: a 6-month minimum commitment. Tool licensing has no minimums — it’s per tool or bundle, annual. The right starting point is usually the smallest engagement that answers your most pressing question, then we see where it goes from there.
Yes, standard mutual NDA before any substantive discussion. I use a short-form agreement that gets signed same-day. If you have a specific NDA template, send it — I read it myself, not through a law firm, so turnaround is fast.
